Answers to the most common questions about buying, selling, and staying safe on GrabAm. Can't find what you need? Contact us directly.
How does escrow work on GrabAm?
When a buyer pays, funds are held securely via Moolre and are not released to the seller until the buyer confirms they've received the item. This protects both sides, sellers know a real payment is committed, and buyers aren't sending cash into a WhatsApp chat with no recourse.
What payment methods are supported?
GrabAm supports MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, and AT Money through our payments partner Moolre. GhQR is planned but not yet available.
How do I list an item for sale?
Open the app, tap 'List & Sell', add up to 5 photos, set your price, and choose whether it's negotiable. Your listing goes live immediately.
Can I negotiate the price?
Yes. Buyers can send an offer, and sellers can accept, decline, or counter all inside the in-app chat.
What if an item doesn't match the listing?
Don't confirm delivery. Use the in-app dispute/report option instead this keeps escrow funds held while the issue is reviewed rather than releasing them to the seller.
Is GrabAm only for university students?
No. GrabAm started as a campus marketplace but is now open to the general public across Ghana, with university tags available as an optional filter.
How do sellers get paid?
Once a buyer confirms delivery, funds are released from escrow directly to the seller's registered mobile money account.
Is my phone number or personal data shared with other users?
No. Buyers and sellers communicate through in-app chat. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and how it's used.
